Population Data

Population raster example

Each map needs a population raster. This can come from a default raster (WorldPop constrained and unconstrained are available) or else can be uploaded as well. Population raster data can be found here:

• WorldPop www.worldpop.org.uk

• Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) web.ornl.gov/sci/landscan

• CIESIN www.ciesin.columbia.edu/data/hrsl

These population data are typically rasters with a resolution of approximately 100m at the equator.

Any population data can be uploaded in a GeoTIFF format, as long as the size is under 2GB and the projection is in EPSG:4326.
